I was asked to document and make some short films to celebrate ‘Volunteers week’. I love making community films as I always come away from the filming days feeling good and uplifted. I wanted to celebrate the good & kindness in people.
These short films / videos were used on Social Media – Facebook and Twitter and are being used as tools to attract other people to becoming volunteers in Monmouthshire, South Wales.
This film/video shows the variety of volunteer roles in the community and the different reasons people are motivated to volunteer in wales.
This film/video was shown on social media to document how young people can benefit from taking on volunteering.
This film was made about a lady who’s life was changed dramatically through volunteering, she speaks honestly and openly about how she went from being confined to her home with mental heath issues to now becoming part of her community and having a real purpose in her life. She reads a poem she wrote for Mardy Resource Centre the place that is her refuge. I really appreciate her sharing her personal but inspiring story, thank you!
